Play dough Recipe

Everyone has had those days where you have NO idea what to do with kids. Whether it is stormy outside, a sick day or just a Wednesday, here is THE BEST play dough recipe to keep them occupied.

You can use the play dough by itself or you can add rollers, cookie cutters, dinosaurs or even fairies. Allow your little one’s imagination to go wild by adding loose parts or including open ended items.

Don’t have time to run to the store to get play dough? NO worries, here is a recipe using items you may already have in your pantry!

If you do not have cream of tartar, this is to add longevity to the play dough, it can be left out.

Here is our favourite recipe
🌟2 cups of plain flour
🌟1/2 cup of salt
🌟2.5 tablespoons of cooking oil
🌟1/2 tablespoon of cream or tartar
🌟1 3/4 cups of boiling water
🌟2-5 drops of food colouring

METHOD
1. Place all dry ingredients to bowl, add oil (and optional food colour) then add 1 cup of boiling water while mixing it slowly.
2. Slowly add the remaining boiling water a bit at a time, knead until smooth.
3. If the playdough feels too sticky, add some flour.
For extra shine, add 1 teaspoon of glycerine
