Simple Kinetic Sand Recipe
With magic or sensory sand being an absolute favourite in our house, we had to try this edible sensory base as the first in our series.
The cornmeal (or polenta) gives it such a sandy texture, and my little one has been playing with this non stop.
We have switched out our Easter sensory tray and added dump trucks to create a construction invitation to play after he got a bit bored and it lasted another 2-3 days.
This can be stored in a ziplock bag or airtight container.
- 1/2 cup of Polenta (or cornmeal)
- 1/2 cup of flour (or cornflour for a gluten free alternative)
- 1 tbsp of oil
- 1 tbsp of glucose syrup
Mix all the ingredients together to combine! We mixed the oil and glucose syrup first, and then mixed in the dry ingredients, however it works either way.
If it comes out a little drier than you would like, add a couple of drops of oil.
