Sometimes the most simple play trays can be the most fun.
Our very first autumn play tray consisted of a variety of peas, beans and lentils as the sensory base and scoops and bowls.
While this activity may not seem like it is packed full of early learning, it provides the basis for early math and science skills!
Pouring and scooping helps your little one discover and explore gravity, muscle control, cause and effect, self awareness as well as weight and size. They are not only discovering what they can do by pouring, but they are learning fundamental skills about their environment.
We also found some shapes that represented the colours and added in some colour sorting!
